Just curious, and this is probaly a silly question, but basicly, a query letter is like the back of a book right? Where the book briefly tells you what the book is about hoping to get you "hooked" on it?
I ask because I have two books with conflicting queries. One guy says a query letter is a sum of a few things: it consists of the first 2 chapters of your book and an outline on the rest of your story. The other says that a query is simply a one page letter to an editor or agent briefly describing your story and if he'll consider reading it.
Which is correct?
