Thanks for sharing that with us, Anne. I'm glad you got your Pink Purse of Doom back from airport security -- I laughed when you said you were glad you remembered your name! :)

And funny that you were riding back from the crashed HQ party with an HQ worker. <G>

It sounds like you had a really enjoyable time.

Dang, I didn't check to see if the Microtel I stayed at before conference had the Texas-shaped waffle maker. I know they had a waffle maker, but since I was being good on my diet, too, I didn't have any waffles. I would have enjoyed Texas-shaped waffles. :)

How do authors keep track? :)

Seeing your post made me remember an author I'd forgotten to mention... Susan Crosby! I bought one of her recent Desires at the signing. Before signing a copy, she kept warning me that it wasn't one of her best. Isn't that neat? :) You made me think of her because I think she was one of the Desire authosr you recommended.

Oh, and I spoke to Ann Christopher at the signing because I already had one of the books she was signing. And Jessica Inclan. And Sandra Schwab -- she might be one of the authors who had no books to sign because they accidentally ended up in the Goody Room.

There's also a post about it by Sandy on AAR's After Hours blog, with more information on the sad Judith Ivory news.

I have to add that it was ALWAYS easy to find Anne in a crowd. She carried the "pink purse of doom" (which was slightly larger than the conference tote), her AlphaSmart case AND her conference tote, filled with books and other stuff, wherever she went. I kept expecting her to fall over to one side when she'd round a corner...

But seriously, very cool post at AAR, Anne. (and thanks for the book plug. ;) )

You should have seen me at the Harlequin party. At first, I was dancing with the pink purse of doom, conference tote, and AlphaSmart case. Thank God our party found a table, and someone took pity on me and pointed out that I could leave those things there. At least I wasn't wearing that shirt with the purple sky and blue canals of Venice and sparklies...

Thanks for the book. :D

I got the pictures back from Le Wal-Mart today, and ASAP I'll send them to Laurie of AAR with lots of TLC.

.

Well, actually, that's a good point/question. When I was considering pennames, a good friend of mine advised me to at least keep my same first name -- makes it a lot easier to "keep track" off. <G> And that way, she would know what to call me at conferences. I'd still be Susan. <G>
