so who went this year? I was there on Thursday and Friday...wow it was crowded. it was my first Comic-Con and I had a blast. I didn't attend many of the panels, but I toured the exhibit hall for two days.
I went on Thursday and you're right, Lee_OC, it was very crowded. This is the first year ever that all four days sold out, so with the huge capacity of the convention center, that's saying something.
I was impressed to see so many publishers there, both independent and commercial, representing graphic novels, manga, comics, and, regular old prose novels, SF/F and YA. Lots to see.
Lots of book signings this year, too.

One thing for sure, the convention can't get any bigger. Friday there was no where to move. This was my son's and mine first comic con (we usually do world con) and the wall to wall people was quite a shock to the system. Still most of the people were quite fun to be around.

Back from San Diego for a little over a week and now I'm heading to Chicago for Wizard World.

San Diego was crazy. My first Comic-Con. I went to WonderCon and APE (Alternative Press Expo) in SF this year, but they were tiny compared to San Diego.
Did anyone else try pitching/submitting original graphic novels or comics properties while in San Diego?

My experience is that cons are a great place to meet and schmooze and make a real connection. But as for pitching, there is that much going on, and when they come to pack up and leave, your stuff can get lost or destroyed.
However, if you beat that system, share the joy and love, dude.
