I just hit the half way point of my first MS. Fifty thousand words. And oh man, doesn't it feel good! I have no doubt in my mind that I'm going to be able to finish this thing, because if making it halfway feels this awesome, I can only imagine what actually finishing it will be like!

Congratulations. It's a wonderful feeling to take pride in your work, and it feels even better when you know you're getting closer to being able to share your thoughts and imagination with others.

Write on, fellow author.

Congratulations - and well done for sharing with us. Look forward to reading your post that you're finished the novel.

Congrats too. I just hope you haven't used the word "awesome" as frequently in your manuscript (preferably, you haven't used it at all, outside of dialog, maybe).

Writing for the enjoyment of it and the thrill of personal accomplishment - that's an accomplishment in itself. Congrats and keep plugging along!

Wow, congrats.

Truthfully I never feel comfortable about a book until I see it on the bookstore shelves. But that's just me, I worry a lot.

I always find the middle part the most terrifying. What if it stagnates or I can't finish it the way I want?

That's good! Congratulations. :)

Just remember, if your feelings change on you, to keep plugging away until you get it done. Some writers suffer from a problem called 'the Mid-Book Blues'. If you start feeling down about your book, don't give in to your feelings but rather plug away until you finish your piece. The satisfaction of getting half-way through a book, from what I've experienced, is nothing compared to finishing the story altogether.

Best wishes to you.

Now it's all downhill!

Actually, it's true in the working sense but not true in the story sense. As in, the story gets more and more exciting after the second half (or at least mine does), but it gets easier and easier to write.

Then, right before the end, I lost all ability to write for two days. Then, exactly at 2:00 in the morning, I sat up, turned on my computer and finished the book.

Funny. Ha.

Well, keep on writing, Megan_D. If you don't...I'll kill you!
