Inspired by notpc's post about her (his?) 7 yo's writing effort, I propose those with young children who aspire to fiction, share some of their summer writings. If this should be in another forum (like SYW?), feel free to move it.

This is the blurb for my 7 yo daughter's summer story (spelling corrected by me):

On a planet much unknown by humans, there lived aliens all different shapes and sizes, but the queen was different than all. She was greedy, selfish and only cared for herself. But all the others loved and shared. And one day nobody liked her, so she put a spell on all her people so they would bow to her command. Except the Chince family! The Chince family was the only one who knew about it, because that family was super spies!

My daughter's four and can't write yet, but she tells wonderful stories. Could I transcribe it for her and type it up here?

As a summer project, why don't you parents get together and post a thread, letting the kids write a large story? Like a red robbin type of thing. Each child gets to post something, pushing the story along. It will give them something to do.

It's not "my" kids, but the kids at the summer camp I work for, (inspired by my constant pen and notebook) have started writing stories. Can I put some of them up?

Many years back, my little sister (who is now well into her teens) wrote a little "story". We thought it was so funny we kept it. Thinking back on it, I wonder what the heck she'd been watching on TV...

Spelling corrected by moi:

"Once, there was a man called Remi. He had magical powers to turn blue things into red things and make them explode. Remi lived with his perverted mother-in-law who liked to go into the bathroom when he was in the shower and shout "BOO". His best-friend lived with them, he was a blonde talking donkey. The mother-in-law hated the donkey."

That's as far as the story goes.
