Hi all,
About a year ago the Screenplay Literary Agency replied to a mass email I sent out promoting a screen lay I wrote. They said they were really excited about my work. After research I found two bad reviews on them and decided not to pursue them. Since I joined this group I thought I'd see if anyone has input on them.
Thanks
Crowlett
Have a look in the Bewares and Background Checks section of this forum. I believe there's plenty of input about them there.

There are a number of threads about the SLA (and their other businesses) In Bewares and Background Checks. Just do a search using the Search function at the top of the page.

i read a damning article on SLA a while ago. to see if the agency was a scam, the author wrote on the application a logline full of jibberish and nonsene.
he got a reply from SLA, saying they were interested. they wanted him to cough up $90, though, for a reading fee.
i don't remember the url, but a quick google search could probably find the article.

I renamed this thread for clarity's sake and so it's picked up in any future searches.
I just visited Bewares and Background Check (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=22) forum, selected Search this Forum and entered "Screenplay Literary Agency" (including the quotes) which found 2 big, long-running threads:
Writers Literary Agency & Marketing Company/The Literary Agency Group

WL Screenplay Agency (The Screenplay Agency)

"businesses" that you not only run from as fast as you can BUT THEN TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND SEND OUT MASS MAILINGS INSTRUCTING THEM TO LEAVE ALONE.
It is my sincere hope that perhaps in another year the scammers behind the name will wither and die due to extreme poverty.
All right, I don't really wish the PEOPLE to die, but the business should certaintly starve to death because NOBODY will send them money.
Alas I fear there will always be some poor sucker who didn't get the memo.
