I am a 28 year veteran judicial translator who has only done literary translation for small press publishers. I feel I am qualified to approach major houses to get on their lists. I have been told they work from a lost of approved translators who bid on manuscripts. I would like to know what publishing houses want to see in queries they receive from translators in order to be approved. I am used to querying as a writer but this will be my first foray into approaching publishing houses to be considered for approval. I appreciate your time and help on this!
