What is your submission plan? I'm submitting to 10 agents at time. I have a list of 30 right now. When I hear back from one, I'll submit to the 11th and so on. Is this a good plan? How are you doing it?

That's a great plan. You are WAY more organized than I am. :D I do it in batches two weeks apart. Then I try to keep close tabs on who I've queried and who I haven't.

You might want to keep a spreadsheet of who you've queried because A) You'll forget after hitting 40+ and B) You can track postage for tax purposes on the same log. Even when e-querying I log it because I don't have time to go through my sent items folder.

Good plan--hope you find someone sooner than I have!!

I keep a list of people I've queried in Excel. I tend to go on querying binges... I send out 40 queries in one week and then just tally up my responses as they come back (I highlight with red for rejection, green if they ask for more). Once the majority of queries have come back, one way or the other, I start sending out more. I used the same system for submitting short stories to magazines back when I was doing that. Actually, this time I am waiting for a response on a full and a partial I have out before I go back to querying again. Probably because I just don't want to face the whole ordeal. ;)
