Dang. Ya beat me to the thread. I was going to post this two weeks ago when NPR ran a segment on the 40th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and how it is generally regarded as one of the greatest albums ever.
But my short post has turned into a 500+ word essay on why each album on my list is my favorite and I never got around to posting it.
So, to make a long story short, and I'm not sure I can just limit myself to 5, but here goes. THese are all albums I never tired of listening to:
Black Sabbath's debut album
Captain Beyond's debut album
Space Ritual by Hawkwind
Look at Yourself by Uriah Heep
Looking In by Savoy Brown Blues Band
Twice Removed From Yesterday by Robin Trower
Santana III
Killer by Alice Cooper
Crash Landing by Jimi Hendrix
Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Ted Nugent's solo debut album
Journey's debut album
Brain Salad Surgery by ELP
DSOTM by Pink Floyd
Romantic Warrior by Return to Forever
A Funky Thide of Sings by Billy Cobham
Energized by Foghat
and I think I'll stop there.

Now I'm giggling at the thought of Chunky Riverdancing, is that weird?
I can't pick though. So I'll toss in some randomness(just to keep y'all on your toes)...
Someone prolly already mentioned Dreamboat Annie and Rumours, so there go two that are really high up on my list, but no order, none whatsoever, can't pick...
Any album with a K-Tel sticker on it's pretty much worth owning. Yeah, on account of it's like Now That's What I Call Music, except for it's you know -- Actually music!
Gotta own Diamonds and Pearls by Prince. The music's not half bad, but what really makes it a must-own is the hologram cover...
Don't buy anything with Russel Crowe's name on the cover. Trust me, sure it might be a soundtrack; but then again it might be that godawful band of his. Better safe than sorry...
Sticky Fingers is a must have because it's both awesome and interactive. Zipper goes down, zipper goes up, repeat. Better than a Playstation if ya ask me.
If I could just get my hands on the Ricky Nelson boxed set I'd be pretty darned happy. Technically it's not an album but come on, Ricky Nelson!
Conversely, since my hormones have somewhat normalized(no longer a giggly-young girl), avoid Nelson! Great hair though. Just crispy enough...
Bitches Brew by Miles Davis - Awesome name, awesome cover, awesome album...
Axis: Bold As Love - Little Wing people! LITTLE WING!!! Oh yeah and there's all this other incredible music on the album too, did I mention Little Wing?
Used to have a Mickey Mouse Club when I was little. It wasn't half bad. My fave track? The Pussycat Polka! Not too long after heard Stray Cat Strut for the first time.
Oh and before I forget Debbie Harry is a Godess!
I told ya it was random.

...Snipped.
And of course we all know what's behind the zipper ... literally ... don't we?
I have that on LP. Probably one of the best albums the Stones ever did.
I just wish its previous owners hadn't bumped it so much when they were partying. You Gotta Move and Moonlight Mile are so badly scratched up my record player can't play those songs. :(

Maybe I can keep to five if I lump some together....
Every single one of Marilyn Manson's albums. I've been obsessed with his music since I was 13 and that will never change.
All three Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks.
not.com.merical by Cher.
With Teeth by Nine Inch Nails
Offspring's self-titled debut album. (*sigh* why must all their new stuff suck?)
Bat Out Of Hell 3 by Meatloaf.
There's a ton more I like, but those are the ones I really love. Almost kept it to five :D

How could I have forgotten that one? On the way to school every day, my buddy and I used to crank it up on the ol' 8-track in his Rambler. I was in charge of rolling, man....I've fallen madly in love with it this summer. And you know ...
Love is careless in its choosing -- sweeping over, cross a baby
Love descends on those defenseless
Idiot love will spark the fusion
Inspirations have I none -- just to touch the flaming dove
All I have is my love of love -- and love is not loving
Go listen to it. You know you wanna!
