Hello :)

I submitted some poems to Babybug about 6 wks ago. The website says they'll respond in 3 months (and I'm perfectly willing to wait that long:tongue), but I wondered if anyone's received a response in less time than that.

Thanks.

I had a rejection take so long (June '05-Feb '06), I resubmitted, thinking it had been lost. So I got TWO rejections on one story from the same mag. Both came with nice little handwritten notes, though, so that was cool. Good luck!

The second submission got a response in about two months, though. A few weeks later I got the rejection for the first sub.

I've only submitted to them a couple of times, but I got responses back within about 2 months or so, I think.

They can be really slow. Sometimes as long as 6 mos. It has to do with the way they process their submissions. They get such large amounts of unsolicited ms that they have off site readers. The readers get entire boxes of material for the first pass through. When the entire box has been read and sorted, the get sent back to Carus Publishing. It can take a while.

That's very interesting!

Thanks for the information, everyone :)
