I am curious I found this board by a fluke, it is entertaining but more importantly very informative. Still I am looking for a smaller board with not such a broad content.
I write modern day fiction, and when I see 200+ pages of search material such as here My eys go buggy. Are there smaller boards with less techinical critique? If I am to be slammed so be it.............

You could view this in a sense of a bunch of smaller boards. If you have a question post it, and if it's already been answered, someone will give you the link.

I don't know of any other boards though if this won't work.

Google writer's groups-you may have to shop for a while, but you can find plenty of smaller, more intimate writing groups.

Slam! Just kidding. :D

Actually you're being smart - looking for a source to help your writing without being distracting. But smaller might not be better - just more limited. This forum works for me 'cause it's focused on novels.

You might find something more fitting for you in this list of writing sites. It's how I found this one.

Hmmm, go where you feel comfortable naturally but, as someone who searched high and low for the right writing message board, I feel one can't go wrong with this one. Sure, it's big with lots of options but I focus on what I need at the time and ignore the rest. I wish the children's section was more active but I get most of what I need in the novel writing section.

I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck.
