I love all the links on what sites / publishers not to use. My sis in law did Publish America...and PA offered to read my entire book....yesterday...that's how I ended up here.

I see all the reasons not to go with PA...I saw the links of sites to avoid...is there a link to agents or publishers to TRY? Specifically those who take email query letters?

First of all Sheri, welcome!! I'm so glad you didn't go with PA. You made the right choice. There's a book that has a whole listing of agents. It's called The Writers Market Guide. I think that's the name. P&E also has a listing of who is good and isn't.

Welcome to AW glendalough!

Check the "Bewares and Background Check" here, check Publisher's Marketplace, AgentQuery (they have lists of major publishers, small presses, agents and literary magazines), and also, in books, try Jeff Herman's guide.

There's also literaryagents.org (it's not being updated anymore, from what I can see, but there's a list of agents there who are probably still in buisness. Check them through P&E - that's Preditors and Editors, in case you haven't heard of it yet - before submitting though.)

Then of course, there's the Associatoin of Authors' Representatives .
