If an agent or publisher (in their guidelines) request the first say, three chapters, but your book has a prologue, do you count the prologue as chapter one, or do you just not send it?

Once again, thanks BrookieCookie777! :) That question's been bugging me for a while, I'm so happy someone could answer it.

Prologue

Yes, send the prologue. If the book needs a prologue, the editor or agent MUST read it. If it doesn't need a prologue, you should throw the prologue away.

James has a point there - if you are writing about an alien invasion upon a herd of pink texan buffalo *lol* then it might be needed to make sure no one gets lost. If not, like before, not needed.

Not that you are writing about aliens and pink buffalos . . . which if you were would mean you are working against one too many deadlines like me! Sometimes I swear deadlines lower brain cell counts - you should have read the *masterpiece* I wrote one day when I had a lot of things on me plate . . . lol - It was much worse than aliens and pink buffalos. It was more like aliens riding unicorns abducting a purple moose . . .I need to come off the coffee! oh my.
