With most of the crew off at camp, I really got some serious work done on my book this week and it is ready for my betas.

Whew. I'm tired. Proud, happy, exhausted! I know it will need some more work, but the story is down and has been closely edited twice.

I feel like I just gave birth!

I remember fondly when my two visited Grandma & Grandpa in Oregon last summer. I went off on my own. 5 blissful days of not cooking, cleaning, entertaining, chauffering...and just toast for dinner!

There was nothing else to do but write and I got so much done. Now it's just snatching time here and there.

I like your analogy of giving birth. When I finally finished my story it didn't hit me for a few days, and then it did and I realized I'd gotten over a major hurdle. It was a wonderful feeling for about a week, and then I started revising and realized it's going to be as much work or more as getting the story down. Sigh. But you are well on your way, and, as I try to remind myself, much further than many "writers" ever get.
