Last weekend, I spoke at the Pennwriters' conference in Pittsburgh. I was joined by a couple of other AW members. One came all the way from the UK for the conference!

One thing I did hear from a Berkley editor -- paranormal is STILL hot and going strong. :)

I did my workshop Story Superglue: Make It Stick with Readers. You can grab the handout from my website here:

http://www.susangable.com/articles_for_writers.htm

I'll be doing that workshop again in the fall at the NJ conference. I'm really looking forward to that.

Also, to see a picture of us AWers, go here:

http://www.susangable.com/Photo Page.htm (I couldn't figure out how to get to post it right here. <shrug> I'm all about the workaround. <G>)

It was great fun to meet some of the folks from the board, and I hope to meet more of you in the future! I am going to National. (Cathy, you are, too, right?) If there's a few of us, maybe we can do a breakfast or something one day at National. (Doesn't have to be breakfast, could be anything. <G>)

Or maybe some of you will be at the NJ conference. :)

got to put a shout out in for Susan's workshop - even though I don't write romance per say, I found it invaluable and one of the BEST workshops of the convention - if not the best!

go forth and get this handout if you want some invaluable information for whatever genre you write!!!

we had a great time teasing Maestro at the Applebee's and watching our UK AW member chug back sangria...

;)

heh, heh...

Susan G's workshop was great!

Her presentation was solid, her handout insightful and the information invaluable. (I'm not just saying that because I moderated the session. It really was one of the best workshops of the conference.):D

Hi Susan,

I have to agree with Sheryl (and I write romance) - your workshop was one, if not the best! And if you ever come to the UK...I'll take you on a tour of the distilleries in my old stomping ground - Scotland... then we'll see who can drink!

Oh, Lord! It won't be me, that's for sure. I'll be under the table in no time! I'm a light-weight. <G>

And thanks, Robin! (Hey, I have a great new workshop if your group is looking for a speaker. <G> Been a while again since I've been to Baltimore. You guys are great!)

Where are you? Or do you mean you left the group?

S.

I still live in Md, but left RWA so I had to leave the local chapter. I am concentrating on groups like ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) now. If our local chapter of that group ever gets large enough we'd love to have you speak--we're mostly all romance novelists. :D
