With Plato, Aristotle and Descartes books sitting on my shelf, I pose a question for the best way to create metaphysical imagery in poetry. I have read John Donne and I think he is a great poet (I love 'Death be Not Proud' the most and not just because the first two lines intoduce a Children of Bodom song ;))
It has fascinated me in getting into the train of though to come up with metaphysical imagery - it should come in handy for the poem I am writing as the person it is for loves Descartes' 'Cogito Ergo Sum' - ('I think therefore I am') and she came up with the idea of the soul being in the toe.
Cheers - If necessary I'll post my attempts a little later (I'll need to type them up)
