I gave my script in for my unit at college....turns out it was too long. It needs to be around seven pages long for screening time.

I thought of an idea, taking the 'Tarantino Route' as it were, by using flashbacks.

Thoughts?

Absolutely impossible to say, without knowing more about your screenplay.

This is my humble opinion, not gospel. Flashbacks can be tedious if not used wisely and sparingly. Especially in a short script where trying to tell which scenes form the main story and which scenes form the flashbacks, could prove confusing for the audience.

If it's the script you posted (?) then I'd humbly advise you to simplify the story by cutting out the middle men. Let the guy who got his fingers burned come after your protag directly, with his henchmen. Or not. Just an idea.
