What would you say to the past if you knew the future?

If you knew that someday you'd be 'Rich and Famous'...an earthshattering novelist of historical importance that would change the way people feel and think, what would you write here in this forum (and thus something that would become part of the past) that people could eventually come back to once you became the person of your dreams?

A bit convoluted, I know...but if you were say, Stephen King as a youngster reading this forum, convinced you would someday break all kinds of sales records, what would you write in these forums today that you knew people would come back to once you became a so-called Citizen of the World?

Perhaps too convoluted for a great thought-starter, but I'm curious nonetheless...

Have at it!

I might be too afraid to say anything. It's a tremendous feeling to stand on the stage of history, and I don't know if I could say anything knowing full well that every word of it will be analyzed.

Or I'd get rip-roaringly drunk and just say whatever comes to mind :D

I think I agree completely...on both counts!

The same things I'd say if I didn't know. I've never cared what people think, nor would I care what 'history' thought of me. I'd just like to get paid for writing. That's it. Simple, easy to remember. :D

It is not up to us to know the future, but to shape it with the present we have. That being said, I hold no reservations about my goals, and I shoot for the moon, to borrow a rather cliche phrase. If anything on here, I try not to waste my time, as there are many places to do so, even amid writers. I try to give the most helpful advice I myself believe in at this point, helping others to ignite that fire of creativity within them. I might not be on the right track at one particular point or another, but I go at finding that path with the same fire as my display picture suggests.

In short, I address the past when necessary, and I don't put too much expectation in the outcomes of the future, merely accept that my facing of it will be a large part of how it forms.

I wouldn't say anything. Why? It hasn't happened yet. I would, however, probably not say anything too stupid, so people in the future can't come back and say "Ah ha! Look, he was a buffoon."

Oh, and fix all my spelling and grammatical errors.

I would say be kind to your waiters and bartenders or they'll become famous novelists and kill you over and over again in print.

Or maybe I'd say treat yourself well; sleep on expensive sheets, go out for fabulous dinners at five-star restaurants. This life is fleeting and the longer you put off the good stuff, the less time you'll have to enjoy them.

Or maybe I'd say neener-neener, you're all a bunch of loosers, you're going to be sorry for ignoring me someday. MARK MY WORDS. :D

If I knew that someday, I'd be a famous writer, I probably wouldn't be here. My head would be so full of myself, I'd likely never deign to converse with other writers.

Luckily, I'll settle for a decent writer, and a lot of good conversation. :)

I probably wouldn't say anything different than normal. My reason can be summed up in an old proverb:

A good name is better to be chosen than gold...

I think I would want my name to remain as untarnished as possible before I became famous, so when I did become famous I wouldn't be looked upon as a jerk.

Don't let them tell you it gets easier. It doesn't get easier. My poor past self will be so depressed.

I must have a huge ego or something because it's only just been occurring to me recently, at age 33, that I might not become famous. I guess I'd just hope that people looked back at things I posted when I was 23 or 33 or 43 and say, "Hey, she was just a normal person struggling along with the rest of us and look at what she accomplished!"

Hm...I'd probably stop holding back on so many things (those who know me probably don't realize this, but I'm actually very timid. I hide it by being insane) and go crazy. No fear. With the assurance that I'll be successful later, I'd be more exploring. Also, knowing that I'll be successful in the future means I'll be alive and well in the future, so I don't need to worry about falling off a cliff while rock-climbing or having my parachute fail, so I'd definitely go nuts with all sorts of extreme sports. I'd give a tiger a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hug. Maybe two tigers. Three? Are there any zoos that would let me hug three? I couldn't hug a wild tiger because they'd never let me close enough...am I overthinking this? Ooh! I also would stop overanalyzing everything!

Kansas! Again.
Give up all hope. Flee your insane family while you still have your tax refund and can afford it. Stop caring.
