the editor just said they already ran an article with a similar topic already in the ezine. Would you feel dejected about that? I didn't. I just sent it to another ezine.

At this point, I'd be happy with anything that wasn't a form rejection :) Good luck placing your article.

This is why you need to read the magazines you submit to. You should know what a magazine has already ran before submitting. And whenever possible, you need an editorial calendar so you can at least have an idea of what they might run during the next year.

Good going, Susie! Great attitude, keep submitting.

Even if you religiously read every issue of that 'zine, they may have something lined up for a future issue that is similar to your piece and there's no way you would ever know that.

So keep on submitting!

You're right, James, I can only do my best, though, and on occasion, forget what topics are run in all the magazines I sent my work to. I do pretty well with acceptances, so I guess I'm doing fine. Thanks much for your reply.
