Capitalizing subtitles

Do you treat a subtitle as you would an independent main title, or as an extension of the main title? That is, would the title of my next great book be:

(A) Absolute Write: The Gathering Place

or

(B) Absolute Write: the Gathering Place

I think it's (A), but I have a doubt. . .

I have scoured the guidelines of several firms that accept hard copy submissions and none of them touch on this. I think it is not an issue and no one will remember how you use capitalization in your subtitle. The look of B appeals to me and seems sensible since in prose the colon is used to combine clauses, not sentences.

Subtitles are typically used in non-fiction. Usually for that, your proposal must sell the book to an agent first. After that, I think the style of capitalization for the subtitle is immaterial.
