The Prom and Homecoming? caps?

Since they are specific events are they capitalized? If so, is *the* capitalized before prom?

Thanks again! Working on a query and don't want to get it wrong!

Lower case in general. I use caps if I'm talking about the specific event's title.

"Ben asked Jen to the prom."

"I saw them kiss at the prom."

"You are cordially invited to Citytown's Spring Prom."

"We look forward to the homecoming parade."

"The band will march in Citytown's November Homecoming Parade."

Agree with Janice. If it's not in the event name, it's lower case. :D
