Hi, everybody,

Here are some links to info about the recalls. One of the latest foods added to the recall was a dry cat food, one that is prescribed by vets (Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry food from Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc.)!

Thank you.
Thankfully, our brands aren't on the list.

Thanks for the links awatkins and oarsman.

Personally, I'm expecting this to expand in a big way to the dry dog food too. A very few dry products are now listed, plus biscuit treats. But hey, it's just an isolated incident [of the same contaminant that caused massive recall of the wet food]

Anecdotally, we had a bag of Ol' Roy kibbles my husband mistakenly picked up several weeks back. I was going to take it back and never got around to it. Ran out of food, so thought as long as I have it, might as well use it. All the dry food's safe, right? Well, that's what they told us. Now? Well.

Anyway, dog ate a very small portion and then wouldn't touch it. Sat there for two days. So then comes the notice of the recall of the Ol' Roy biscuits. Hmmm.

This drip drip drip, limited hangout of the scope of the problem is starting to sound very familiar.

Heads up, Canada....

You've been added to the recall list. Royal Canin Canada's Medi-Cal Feline Dissolution Formula, a canned diet made by Menu Foods and sold only through veterinarians, contains some of the contaminated wheat gluten. Compare the lot numbers on any cans of this diet you have with the list of recalled foods on Menu Foods' website.

For tips on choosing safe pet foods, check the links Oarsman posted. There's some great info there.

This whole thing is sort of like waiting for the other shoe to drop. :(

Hope everyone's pets stay safe and healthy!
