Dad wants to go on tour

Hi everyone- I know there are a few of you who are following my never-ending-saga. My dad and I were just talking on MSN (yes an almost 86 year old who does instant messaging!) and he asked if I would go on "one of those book tours" if I got this book published. He said he wants to go too. Wouldn't that be something. I mean, it'd be difficult. Neither of us has the easiest time of it, but especially him. Then my mom, who was sitting next to him while we were MSN-ing, said she'd come along to cook and pray before each talk. Well, what could be better? And my husband then said he'd drive. It'd be the whole fam-damily.

Anyway- so I told my dad that I couldn't finish the book until we go over it one more time. He didn't answer, but I think the time will come sooner than later. So now I'm prepping (in my mind) to start again on this project. And though it's been nice to be away from it, the excitement is building again, and even more than before. I want to just start up again NOW, but I'm holding myself back to finish up a few other projects. Then if the book thing takes off at least i'll have a tiny bit-o-money in the bank.

Just wanted to share...again! I owe so much to you all. This has been the perfect venue to share and get advice and ideas. I can't tell you how many times it has made a difference! You all are awesome!

Yeah- My mom sort of gets lost in this whole thing. She is the silent partner. She has prayed for him and me all the way through this. She literally gets up at 4am each morning and prays for us for two hours. She prays for anyone who asks actually. But I have an *in* with her so I didn't have to ask...he he. She just had her 78th birthday and is going strong. Honestly I hadn't thought of it that way-that he has something to look to the future for. That's great! And how true. Anyway- see ya on the road!

Yes SHBueche- My father gave me letters he wrote to his folks during WWII. I've written a memoir about reading them and getting to know him in the process.

He is SO knowlegable about the technical aspects fo what he did as a code breaker. I am only an expert at my feelings during all this. My fear is that some know-it-all will ask a question and I'll look like a fool. With Dad there, he'll talk their ever-lovin' head off.

New Hampshire? That is a loooooong way from here. I'm thinking more, Pacific Northwest tour. Beyond that just seems downright scary. But you never know.

And ok...I'll say it...You were right...you were right...YOU WERE RIGHT! How's that?

Franz- I'm just a few miles from the Oregon/Washington border. I love Oregon too...vacation there every summer!

I'm thinking of getting back to work on my book tomorrow. There is a room in my house I can temporarily (hey it's my house, what's a year or so without a family room?)take over. I thought it would be fun to get a US map and put a pin and the names of people who said to let them know when I'd be in that town/state. It may never happen, but it'd be fun and motivating (maybe) to look at anyway.
