a little ambitious, perhaps?

I'm going for something new next month, a poetry reading. Strange as it sounds, my local pub land lord has been asking if I'd be willing to do something like this for some time. Eventually, I agreed. The problem is, I've no idea which of my poems will be better accepted. I was thinking of a half-hour set, seemed long enough for me. My question to my friends on this site is: which poem(s) of mine that you have read would you suggest I use?

Any and all suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks in advance,

Kie

That ought to get you started thinking--No particular order than working my way backward through your work here--found a lot of great ones I missed as well. You could randomly number them and just roll dice and end up with a nice set, pretty much, without worry.

Break a leg!

Thanks both!! It's in 5 weeks, on April 28th. I'll let you know how I get on.
Anyone else want to suggest anything?

I love so many of your poems but searching for my favorites was tough...
I have only one so far:
Mystery land getaway

I tried to make it a link. I'm impatient with this type of searching the archives-I can't even do it for my own poems.
Have you read in public before? how do you read? fast, slow, dramatically, quietly. this will all make a difference. The poem about holding your mothers hand in the grocery store...adored that one! Don't know the name of that one.
sorry I'm so useless.
I just love your writing. Wonderfully edgy.

Thank you all for the support.

Kevin, what equipment would I need to make a sound recording and post it on the net?

I did it!!!

Yesterday, it was great, very nervous and shaking like a lilly, I did it!

It was extra brilliant because I've had a lot on my mind at the moment and just having the missus there and the baby, both healthy and well, made all the difference. I read to them and to th rest, but with my focus on my lover and my child. It was a great experience and although it took place in a pub(!), the reading went down well. It was a late afternoon job and the punters, all except for the usual barflies, were'nt drunk and were very receptive.

I can't get over how well it went down. There was the occasional chatter during my reading, but what the hey? I'm pleased and can't wait to do it again!
