Writing....Writing...Nothing

Hey Lizzie, that sounds pretty odd, isn't the roleplaying writing itself? and if it is then isnt it the same as a story?? couldnt you use it as an opener? i guess im not quite sure what you mean by the roleplaying maybe..
you might have a problem with plot, like not knowing where your characters want to go.. the harder thing about writers block is that it's individual for every person, what would work for someone might not work for someone else. you could try planning what you want your plot to be about first.
it does sound like an odd problem, becuase if you know the characters you can just start with them doing what they would normally do and go from there, you just need to find some sort of conflict and play it out... character is usually the hardest part to writing. so once you find out what you want to happen, or where you're characters are going to get stuck, and you already know them, just keep having them try to push through it.

Don't know how much this helps, but perhaps you could expand on your problem if it doesnt?

How about writing down a quick summary of your role-playing, and only then turning it into actual writing?

Something along the following lines:

Bonesmasher Bob (rebel of Human-Zombie Alliance) on the run. Dead end. No surrender. clubbed by cop. Wake in jail, examine surroundings. Hear pained shouts of other internees. Zombie cop approaches cell. Argue. Bob bops cop & nabs key. Escape.

Sounds like the role playing is maybe more exciting to you right now than your story is. Find someone to brainstorm your story with and that might get you more excited about it.

Or, maybe doing between 1-3 pages is what your daily quota is at this point in time.

It sounds like you haven't planned your plot.
You can know your characters intimately but if you don't know where they're going and what they do, it's easy to get blocked.

If you go blank because you forget what you roleplayed about, perhaps it is a good idea to record the roleplaying (assuming you didn't did the roleplaying online already).

I did a live action role play in '93 that became my MC in 4 books, (so far). My half-dragon woman has parents, a step-father, a twin sister, a 5000 year old sorceress who wants those scales, a lover who turns out to be a werebeast, a friend who's a princess assassin, and on and on. Our characters have lives, loves, enemies, friends, teachers, fav foods, skills, everything we do on another scale. Give them a toe in the door and they'll be in your face for the rest of your life.
