Partly because the thread in TIO is giving me a headache, and partly because it just flat-out made me smile --

Did anyone see that follow-up commercial for Pedigree dog food?

Remember the one, it started airing just before the Westminster show, where the voiceover tells us these dogs names, and how they're good dogs and just want to go home, while showing us all these stray dogs in the kennels? All the while tugging at our heart strings, making us all want to adopt about 34 of them?

Well the other night I saw one of the dogs featured in that commercial, and the voice over is saying how this was Rusty when we first met him - then it goes to this very dog being adopted, given a home, and turning into a HAPPY, playful, loved pet - and this is Rusty now.

Made me gush :)

I'm just sayin'

They make me cry. Literally. All of 'em. I swear, I'll die and you'll all hear about me on the news, "Ol' Cat Girl died today and when they removed her body, 9,736 cats and dogs were found, healthy and happy in her house."

Me too! Especially since I rescued my puppy. I know what terrible conditions he was in and how given a chance he has blossomed. I see his little face in those commercials.

It is also why family and friends do not allow me near a shelter or rescue group... They even hide my keys when the TV comes on! *meanies*

I'm already the laughing stock of my in-laws, because I have 2 dogs and 10 cats. Big deal. We have five acres, and only three cats come inside (besides Lucky who is inside all the time.)

This thread isn't about it, but I can't stand how people gasp when I say we have 10 cats.

I had that many once. Actually, I think it was 11. sigh. I miss those guys.

Really, though. I like my smaller families better. When you have more cats, they interact more with each other than they do with you. They tend not to mind so well either.

But yours are always outside so it doesn't matter so much. They're doing their own thing most of the time anyway.

At one point, I had 5. But it wasn't long after that when my two oldest died. But yeah, people freaked when I said I had 5 cats.

When I was a kid, my mother's Irish Setter had 16 puppies, and it was fun to tell all my friends at school that we had 2 cats and 17 dogs :D
