haskins is great.

but hell man, i don't know that he's the type who's into hero worship like this.

that being said, haskins is a great poet.

unfortunately our network at the office won't let me go to Poison Pen - wtf? but off the top of my head:

La Femme Qui Pleure

and now I'm going to get vague:
the one with the one eyed sketch artist (Cyclops) I laughed until I cried.
the one with the guy looking at his reflection in a window
the one with something about the crooked moon, "she counted my scars"? am I remembering that right?
and she picks her words like flowers

shit...I'm not so good at explaining these. I need titles.

HA! We've had this conversation before. Someone I know said her work internet filter wouldn't let it through and I was shocked, and now at this company I work for, the same thing. I hate that.

This one:

By the Clock

In Time…
Days turn to nights-
Dreams turn to fights-
Blood turns to wine-
In the shadows,
Through the windows,
Melting memories
Of the country.

It's not The Establishment, it's Haskins. He doesn't have to be a perv.
That and my porno painting... deadly combo.

I have a bunch of favorites. Here are a few that come to mind:

Luna. Something about this poem just speaks to me. I'm sure it speaks to the rest of you, but not like it speaks to me.

The Mute. It still makes me touch the palm of my hand as I read it.

La Femme Qui Pleure. I've always loved this painting and this poem makes me love it more.

If Trees Could Talk. Who doesn't feel like that, once in a while?

you guys have collectively picked poems from my teens, my twenties, my thirties and my forties.

i don't know what that means, if anything, but it's interesting.

They're timeless, of course....still, it would be fascinating to know the order in which they were written. Have you ever considered adding the year each was written as a footnote or something on your site?
