This week has been Young Authors Week for the school where I would I wanted to share some of the authors I found interesting thus far.
Barabra Gowan She came the last two years and I saw her at the Arizona book Festival back in April. Wonderful lady. Her picture books are full of Arizona facts I bought Desert Digits this year. She signed it for me too. http://www.barbaragowan.com
Carla Goody AKA C.A. Goody She is a great author her stories are so funny. She is good at talking infront of a group too and great with kids. I bought all 4 she had out last year. All signed as well. (she was from last years YAW but I still remember her name) http://www.charliethecat.com
Janni Lee Simner I could tell she likes kids. She taught them how to come up with story starters. I took notes. I got a signed copy of the book on the front page of her site, Secret of the Three Treasures signed too of course. http://www.simner.com
Charline Profiri She did a thing on writing so you can pass the AIMs. This is a test for Arizona that kids start taking about 3rd grade and it gets harder as they go. It's taken like 3rd, 5th and 8th grades in elementary school. This test has to be pasted to graduate high school you start taking it again in 10th grade and every year until you pass it. It doesn't matter as much until you get to high school if you pass it anyway. She use to be a teacher. She has a really cute board book called Counting Little Geckos.
