So I've decided to write a book based on a topic I find very marketable. It'll be kind of like a review book but not exactly. I'll be talking about a certain market, it's products, companies in the market, people of those companies, things like that.
My question is, what can and can't I get away with saying in this? It will be presented as opinion. So can I call some CEO dogsh*t without worrying? Can I say a product sucks because the editor likes the color blue? I won't actually say anything that stupid but you get the idea. American based laws by the way.
Of course I'll run it all by a lawyer and the publisher's legal team but I want to get a good feel for my limits before I set out.
