I need something a kid would 'dump faster than'
You know what I mean? "She dumped him faster than a..."

I don't want to use 'bad habit'; it's cliche. I don't want to use something like 'K-Fed dumped Britney'; it's dated.

So give me a hand. I had thought of using 'a bad British accent' but that's not going to work unless you think Madonna is funny.

Oh, that's a good one. I would use shoes/purse, but she's not the materialistic character. I have one, and if I were only talking about that character doing the dumping, I so would use it.
She's afraid her new friends are going to dump her, so the shoes/purse thing wouldn't be something she thought of.

Whenever I use a metaphor, I always like to use my character's personality, location and cultural upbringing in finding the right one. Like if your character is from NY, you might want to use "She dropped him faster than an old subway ticket." If she lives on a farm in Iowa, you might want to say, "faster than a cow taking a dump." If she's poor, then maybe "She dropped him faster than a pair of goodwill shoes." If she's rich, then "Faster than her daddy's BMW." If she's 18, then maybe say, She dropped him faster than Simon dropping a singer on American Idol. If she's 13, then maybe 'faster than a boy band.' I find that looking at the world through my character's eyes helps in defining metaphores. Does that help? I find that this also helps in my characterization.

...faster than a tuna sandwich with a cockroach poking out of the bread slices.

For some reason, I keep thinking of insects for your passage.

Thanks. I only thought of it becuase I was surprised my teen age cousin liked Starbucks. I didn't start drinking coffee until I was an adult working full time, and it was too much of a hassle to make hot tea at work when there was already coffee. But I digress.

She dropped them faster than her prom dress?

(Yikes)
