It was suggested here that I begin looking for an agent. I've done a search here on the board and come up with more "Bewares" than anything. Am I missing something? Is there a good book or website to help with a search? Or does anyone have a suggestion for an agency that may be interested in a memoir that involves a daughter, her father, 400 pages of letters written during the war and a secret that surfaced just in time?

Thanks All! Lavinia

Go to agentquery.com

You can search by genre. Great info, with links to agency web pages.

You're going to need to put a proposal together, too. You might as well get that going as you begin searching for an agent.

See Jenna's sample proposal here. This has good information of how to write a proposal.

And don't forget that help is available in the SYW forum if you need it.

Good luck. And agentquery is easy to use. Don't forget to read its informative articles.

Try www.aar-online.com too. Also, for a non-fiction book, I trust you're also directly contacting publishers too. If not and you want to, let us know.
