Hi, I just came across this forum yesterday while researching a literary agent, and ended up sitting here for three hours excitedly perusing the site while the snow piled up outside (I'm in upstate New York).

I am a stay-at-home mom to three, ages 7 yrs, 5 yrs, and 16 months. I've completed two young adult novels that I'm currently seeking an agent for, and am in the process of writing three others as the mood strikes (in other words, whenever I have seven or more consecutive minutes to myself, lol).

Already I have picked up several great pointers from this forum, so I'll be returning as often as I can, probably with loads of questions.

Oh, and my screenname - generally if somebody calls while I'm trying to work, I end up saying something along the line of, "I really have no idea why I'm sitting here writing, I've got a sink full of dishes and three loads of laundry and dog hair tumbleweeds drifting through the foyer..." Yet, I continue to write. The house can wait :).

Hoping to get to know some of you better,
Liz

:welcome:

Welcome to AW! I can relate to having a sink full of dishes calling. At the moment I'm afraid to walk into my kitchen for fear what's in the sink and at the back of the fridge have developed language skills....

I absolutely love your name--I had a sinkfull about a hour ago, now it's more like a sinkfull and a half. Nice to meet you!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm sure I'll enjoy hanging around here (and yes, I really should be finishing up those dishes about now ;)).

Behind you!
Hi there, neighbor. I'm in western New York, in between Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes, where even though we're religious shovelers ("God, if we're going out today somebody has to shovel again"), I can see the driveway for the first time in weeks. (It's black!) Our neighbors who had a plow service or who drove through it aren't so lucky.

Maryn, pleased to meet you

Welcome! Glad we could save you from a dreary day of looking out to find more snow (I know how hard you guys are getting hit lately!)

Welcome Sinkfullofdishes...

Love your name, however the thought would give me nightmares..for some reason I can NEVER leave dishes to sit more than a few minutes or they haunt me.... I've tried, really I have but it never works...

I love your username! And I know the feeling very well. No matter how many times a day I wash dishes there is ALWAYS a sink-full. I've even written essays about it. It's wonderful writing material.

Welcome to AW!

Not in the AW forums, I swear!
My husband and son do the dishes.:wag:

But it still doesn't help me get any writing done. Unless you count AW posts!

So, :welcome: SinkFulloDishes! And I also love your user name. If I had to think up a new name, I guess mine would be MantelFulloDust or DryerFulloWrinkledLaundry. :D

DryerFulloWrinkledLaundry. :D
You mean there's someone else out there who leaves clothes in the dryer long enough to get wrinkled and look dirty all over again?

Welcome, Liz, from another SAHM! I'm shoveling myself out of some weird mix of rain and snow today... The dreadful kind that is so heavy it's back-breaking. But notice I managed to squeeze in some time to post on AW!;) Hope to see you around!:)
