BETA: Hi, essentially, I am looking for a beta-reader who knows his stuff so I can see the flaws in my novel without having to post it on the internet, giving it the first-rights, etc. I would be glad to beta-read for them, too, if they are working on a novel. Please take notice that I am not finished with my novel, and it is a Fantasy setting (not Tolkieneske though, no worries.)

COWRITING: I would also like to try to co-write a story with someone, just for kicks and see what comes of it. It would be fun and we could learn together. Also, knowing that you have to write it so the other person can continue is a sort of "deadline" which definitely gets me writing.

Anyone interested, either PM me or reply here.

Cheers,

Magnet.

I'm deep into my agent-requested agents so I can't help, but if I had one piece of advice it would be to finish the book before sending it out to beta readers. I know its tempting to ask for feedback as soon as possible, but that doesn't help you in the long run. Finish the draft, then do a rewrite. Fix everything you know is wrong. Do everything you possibly can, then send it to your readers. Otherwise, people will tell you things you already know--which are likely the big things--and you won't be any further along that you would be if you hadn't sent it out in the first place.

Good luck and I apologize if my reading between the lines is erroneous.
