Ever try one of these? It's not really palindromic (can be read the same backward and forward)... This one can be read in either direction, one direction is the man's point of view. The other is the woman's.

"Me love you"
says Neanderthal.
Empty brain.
Heart full.
Stupid, clumsy, me.
But perfect are you.
Does it matter?
"Impossible," said she.
"I do," said he.
"Me love you."

and... BACKWARD!

"You love me,"
he said. "Do I?"
she said. "Impossible."
Matter? It does.
You are perfect but
me? Clumsy. Stupid.
Full heart,
brain empty.
Neanderthal says
"you love me."

Well, I didn't say it was easy, or that I was good at it. But an interesting exercise, nonetheless.

Each line is a palindrome:

Too far away, no mere clay or royal ceremony, a war afoot
War distended nets I draw
Live was I ere I saw Evil
Bosnia...pain...sob
O stone be not so

Now sir a war is won
Retracting, I sign it, Carter
Star comedy by Democrats
Name no one man
Bar an Arab

It's very mentally athletic, but meaning drains as you play with the position of letters. Even rhyme does that, but not obsessively.
