Hi,

I read about this site in Mark Levine's The Fine Print of Self-Publishing and thought I'd take a look. This is my first day, and I'd like to browse a little and get the feel for what's going on.

I'll thank you all in advance for any potential patience and guidance, advice and direction, and, of course, your consideration as I stumble through on my way to becoming familiar with you and the site. Thanks.

That's a good question right now.
Welcome to AW. Watch where you step as you stumble about. Writers have a tendency to fling their manuscript pages about when they're in the despair stage of the rollercoaster ride. All that loose paper can be a bit slippery underfoot.

Some of us flail wildly, too, as we stumble about. Adds a bit of flair and keeps everyone on their toes.

Welcome, Braydie! :D

I'm really new here, and I must admit that when I saw the simple one-word reply from Mr. Twisted, I wasn't sure whether "Rebel" was an adjective he used as way of describing himself, or whether "Rebel" was an action verb he used as a sort of instruction to me.

Thanks to Birol for clearing up that little question for me. (I'm really not much of a rebel, myself.)

hmmm....
Get a good look around. It's a great place to learn, and sometimes play - it can be addicting though... make sure you don't get so distracted that it keeps you from writing!

Welcome Braydie!:D

I'm collecting ideas, warnings about how and where to step as I stumble through--and am very careful to avoid the slick scattered papers, thank you. I'm enjoying the names and little aliases (and knowing my son would love "The Fish Whisperer"). I appreciate the warm welcomes and am already getting a feel for the site, which was my "site goal" for today. (I agree with Mae that this can be an addicting place. This was a good day to be addicted, though.) Thanks again for being kind. (By the way, I might be a tad more of a rebel than I previously led you to believe. ha Nah!)

Give us time, Bray. Give us time. :)

This is true, Bray. Very true. Give us time and you will be corrupted. The only way to slow the process is to stay out of the "Office Party" and "Take It Outside" boards.

Hi everyone. I thought I'd better check in--and do a little browsing while I'm here. Thanks again for your welcomes, good wishes, and little introductions. I'm enjoying meeting you.
