Okay, let's try out your paranormal romance skills and we're going to mix it up a little! Here's a photograph to play with, AND you have to include the following words in your paragraph or offering. Remember, keep it PG and it has to include romance and at least HINTS of paranormal activity (which can include shapeshifter, zombies, mummies, angels, vampires, witches, ghosts, aliens, etc.) Hubby took this photo in our back yard, so no copyright issues to worry about. :)

Here are your words:

Darkness
Spell
Afraid
Kiss
Cobalt

Have fun!

I ignored the photo. Oops.

His cobalt blue eyes cast a spell of darkness over Sally, a spell so strong she was afraid he would NOT kiss her!

She swooned in his strong bare arms, but since he'd oiled up a little too well for the photo shoot, and she slipped clear of his grasp and dropped flat on her ass on the studio floor.

Sally roared up, bruised and boiling. "Call yourself a cover model?! You couldn't model Playdough! I was supposed to get a call back from "Who Wants to be a Superhero" and I end up HERE??!!? &%$#*$%#-it! Someone call my &^%#%-ing agent!"

Then the photographer bit her in the neck, effectively shutting her up, and they all went home for the night.

Desma looked up at the purple and pink sky from her front porch. A storm was brewing, she could already feel the static electricity flowing through the warm, sultry air.

Darkness would soon fall, the sun was setting fast and soon she would start the spell.

In the distance she could see a strange car coming up the drive. She squinted, this was not the time to have company, this could ruin everything since the spell was time sensitive.

Fear was not something she encountered often but she had made the pact. If she did not follow through with her plans she was afraid that something terrible might happen to her.

The black Cheverolet Cobalt came to a halt in front of her house and the passenger side door opened slowing.

A man in black emerged, every hair on her body stood on end viewing his pale white face as he turned and looked up at her. His eyes glowed in the dusk transfixed on her.

The stranger walked up onto the front porch, smiling and acknowledging her with a nod of the head. Extending his hand to her he spoke. " My name is Sebastian. I have been sent to help you."

Desma extended her own hand to him, his kiss on her hand felt cold, unlike anything she had ever felt before. She smiled at him. " I'm Desma but I think you already know that." She opened the front door to her house, turning back to face him she said, " Please do come inside, its almost time to start."

The building sighed as it settled around her. The tall narrow windows in the thick castellated walls refused to allow the meagre evening light to enter the tall, cold room.

“It is the wrong time to go to Blanteric.” The woman’s soft voice filled the room with her Scottish burr. Amy’s glance rested on Luke relaxing on the overstuffed settee, his eyes closed, head thrown back. How had he thrown his voice like that?

Following instructions given by the receptionist this morning, they’d driven for several hours ending up in this godforsaken castle in the middle of nowhere, miles from their intended destination.

Mesmerized, she watched as Luke began to shimmer and fade, his place taken by a pink-cheeked young woman with golden ringlets flowing over her shoulder. She patted the settee beside her, waiting for Amy to join her. “You have nothing to fear from me.”

“What do you mean, the wrong time?” Amy demanded without moving.

“You're needed here," the woman appeared to be weighing her words carefully before continuing, "to release us.”

"Release you?" Hesitantly, Amy moved toward the settee, uneasily aware the stranger reminded her of someone. Someone she couldn’t recall.

The last rays of the day were fading into cobalt blue---that rich, spellbinding color that steals your breath before true darkness settles around you.

I should be afraid. Marco said he would visit again when nightfall arrived. Seeing him was wrong and I knew it. We had to be so careful now that he'd fed from me twice. But I couldn't seem to resist the touch of his cool lips against mine when we kissed. His hands were always so urgent on my bare skin as he sought to warm himself each night.

Mama always told me that when you married a man, you were supposed to give yourself fully to him . . . make his needs more important than your own. Way I see it, that's what I'm doing. But I know I should be scared.

A cool breeze shivered my skin and I rubbed my arms, watching the sky intently for his arrival. Maybe it was the way the windmill creaked and groaned as the tired old blades struggled to turn, but I jumped when I heard a deep baritone behind me and an achingly cold hand touch my neck.

"Good evening, Angela."
