This is probably something so simple it shouldn't even be asked.

I'm just getting to the end of part one of my novel, which will be around page 125. Should I use a separate piece of paper with just Part Two written on it for page 126 and then start the next chapter on 127, or should Part Two go two or three lines above the chapter heading on page 126?

If the book were being published, I know there would be a separate page for Part One, Part Two and so on. I'm guessing that using Part Two above the latest chapter is the right way.

I would put "PART TWO" on a separate page. It just seems neater.

I'd do the same as PeeDee, but honestly I wouldn't worry about it at this stage. Just keep going.

How many chapters does each part have? Why do you need a part one and part two? Just curious.

I have seven parts with no chapters in them. For the beginning of each new part, I write the title on a new page in the centre in big bold font. I always like starting new chapters/parts this way, I can stand novels that begin a new chapter halfway down a page. It looks untidy.

John, the first part has 11 chapters. It seemed natural to label it part two after that, because there's a slight shift in the story after that. The main character turns into an outcast at the start of the book, deals with lots of rejection and prejudice, and loses his job and his best friend in Chapter 11. After that, his life starts to change as he copes. I had planned on three parts, with about 30 chapters total.
