I've seen this enough to think it must be a trend or the weed is spiked with something. Every time I order from Amazon the books get smaller. I just ordered 3. The Elements of Style was like as big as my hand. Aquamarine not much bigger and then my Orson Scott Card book was kind of normal I guess.

Maybe I'm getting bigger. I'll bet in like 5 more years you'll need a microscope to read everything you buy from Amazon. I wish laughing boy would buy some normal sized material.

In the toidy.
You realize, Amazon doesn't print these books - they just sell 'em.

A conspiracy limited only to myself then....hmmmm.

I was looking for clarification more than anything. What do you mean "smaller?" Fewer pages? Are your hardcovers arriving the size of mass-markets?

Just smaller in overall size. I guess I just like big books and not some itty bitty thing that my hands overlap when I'm holding it. :)

That's a good question right now.
Well, with things like Elements of Style, you have to realize, smaller books weigh less and are easier for students and professors to fit into their backpacks and haul around campus. With things like this, portability is key.

Plus, Strunk & White's little book barely has enough pages to be anything bigger.

But if I order a hardcover of Stephen King's Cell, then it would arrive the same hardcover size as I would buy in Barnes & Noble. That's where I'm not following.

Well, I just pre-ordered the 7th Harry Potter book from Amazon. I'll be mighty upset if it's itty bitty when I get it! :)

You're kind of grouchy today, Pete. Anything you'd like to talk about?

Come on, honey...get it off your chest...you'll feel better.

I'm not GROUCHY! I'm HAPPY!

Okay......it's...it's these Pringles Bacon Ranch chips, their new flavor? I...I don't think it's very good.

*sob*

(they leave the weirdest aftertaste)

You're not stupid, I just missed the dry humor. Sorry. It can be tricky on the internet.

Which is why, as I've said before, we need to color code our messages. Your dry humor should have been burnt umber, to make it clear! :D
