VOTE TOTALS

Here are the overall results, in order of votes.

To my mind, the poems that got few or no votes all would have been worthy; such are the vagaries of poetry votes.

It's easy to make a case for any poem in this bunch being worthy, and I very much hope you'll all be encouraged to have a go at the next contest.

VALENTINE'S CONTEST:
Number -- Title -- Points
19 -- Don't Buy Me Flowers -- 23

6 -- Damn Me -- 0
11 -- Bloom -- 0

When you figure it out, will you let me know?
Congrats to the winners!
and another thank you to Rob, the prize donors, and to all the poets. It was hard to only pick three from each category and I have to agree with what Rob says.

Congratulations to the winners, and to us all. :)

My first vote in each section came in as second place in each.
And my 1,2,3 in each section came in the final list in the order I voted, just a few other entries in between them.
Must be doing something right, just not quite picking them well enough to start betting on horse races yet. :)

I voted for 19 in love and 16 in anti...So I am happy to see my votes represented. But I also second what Poet said about all should be encouraged. I voted 6 poems, 3 for each. Only 2 of my votes win/placed/showed. That's 4 who didn't make it that I thought were phenomenal poems. And mine is only one voting story. We all cast votes for poems who didn't win/place/show. This contest is a matter of taste in the moment of voting. Be proud, all.

I agree with KTC. Only one of the poems that I voted for managed to make it into the top three of it's respective category. They were all brilliant. Good work everybody, and thanks Rob for all the effort. :)

eta: Oh, and a hearty congratulations to the winners. With so many great entries to choose from, it is an excellent accomplishment!

I only voted for one V-day one as I wasn't able to read the rules due to a software problem. I didnlt know we could vote for 3. But anyway, ther were al great and the choice was hard. Well done all!

Only one of my votes, from each category, placed in the top three. That is the wonderful thing about poetry, so much of it is subjective to the reader and the moment. Again though, it was hard to choose.

I don't care that I didn't place in the top three, I got the best prize. :) My Valentine's poem made my bf tear up, just a little, but enough to know how much it touched him.

unfortunately i didn't write poems that could double as gifts. ;)

and I had one vote in each category that turned up in the top three of each. And they were hard choices to make because in both cases I had a list of four poems that I just struggled with narrowing down. Poets be proud, this was a class act showing of poetic skills all the way around.

Congratulations and thanks to everybody who entered! In its own way, entering a contest takes guts (as does running one Rob! ;) ), and everyone involved helped make this contest absolutely rock. :e2headban

My top choice for the Loves came out on top, and my top choice for the Anti's came in second. :D

Congratulations to all winners, although I must admit I only voted for two of you. My tastes seem to run somewhat contrary to popularity, and with only three votes to give away, the competition was sure to be tough. There were a lot of good pieces in both contests, and everyone who entered should be proud of their work.
