You know how it is.. I'll just read a little of this in the aisle of the supermarket. I don't need to buy it. I have enough unread books. CUT TO: 2am, halfway through the book (paid for, not stolen). CUT TO: next morning, logging on to amazon to buy more of his books. WHY won't they just let us write?? I tell you one thing though, its a good job I got plenty of books to read otherwise those dvd's I've been buying would sure cut into my writing time!!

Isaac Asimov is part of a vast, overreaching network of authors who are conspiring to keep me from writing. Some of them johnzakour are on these very boards!

Stephenie Meyer must not wanted me to write, because I could not turn away from Twilight. Yes, yes, I know--it's a high school vampire romance (let's count the cliches!) but damn it that book was good! I'll be honest; I started having a crush on Edward Cullen about half-way through.

Karen Harper is the author currently keeping me from writing...and when I finish her book, it'll be our own Maestro that will keep me from writing.

Or maybe it's all my excuses that are keeping me from writing...Nah, couldn't be. Much better to blame it on others.

Dean hates me, too. But I've got news for him: he's not going to live forever. I'm younger, I read a lot, and sooner or later I'll run out of Dean material to read.

Then I'll write. Take that, Mr. Koontz.
(I know you're scared.)

Yes! I sat in my office chair all damn day reading Twilight. It was the most engrossed I've been in a book in a long time.

I heart Edward.

Who doesn't?

From what I understand, the real-life town of Forks has an annual "I Love Edward" Day. And Stephenie Meyer was greeted at a recent book-signing by thousands of teen and tween girls chanting "Ed-ward! Ed-ward!"

I would've been right there if possible, though I would've looked like a total creep; 24-year old male standing amongst a sea of not-exactly-legal-aged females.

"Honey, you can go to the book store and meet your favorite author, but stay away from the only guy that's there with no children of his own."

Actually, had I have gone to said book-signing, I would've showed up late just so I wouldn't have looked like the total creep.

I shall hang my head in shame as I stole the three or four koontz books from my old school library. On the plus side they had been there four years and never taken out so technically I saved them!
Yes that works for me.

Do you ever want Dean (or other authors) to read your work? There is a prerequisite. You have to finish your stories and get them out there. Reading is good unless it gets in the way of writing. It's your choice which way to go on this...

"Hello?"

"Hi, this is Dean."

"Sorry, Dean who?"

"Koontz!"

"Neat! I'm on the phone with Dean R. Koontz! Wow!"

"Er. No. Just Dean Koontz. You know, Odd Thomas?"

"Oh. Oh yeah. You. Hey, what's up?"

"Yeah, um, your latest book? Because of it...I MISSED MY DEADLINE!"

"Sweet!"

"You'll hear from my attorney in the morning."
