Hey all,

I'm getting ready to send two stories to Clarion, and I was planning to also send them out to magazines now that they're as good as I can get 'em. I was also looking at Viable Paradise, and I note that their applications should be "not currently sent out to any market". Clarion doesn't say anything of the sort, but I was wondering if that was implicitly true or anything.

I really don't want to shoot myself in the foot. Anybody know?

I don't know, but Clarion moved to UCSD in Sept, so you could probably call the college and ask how to reach a rep. They must have a secretary or some such on campus who is there to answer questions.

Good luck with it, Shweta!! :D

I sent an already-published story to both Clarions, and I was accepted at both. And I know a number of my Clarion classmates had sent in stories that had been submitted to markets as well. So, in short: it doesn't matter, as long as it's your best writing.

Wow, Livia, that's awesome. Also, thanks for the response, and thanks JD too :)

I did talk to the people at UCSD, and they said "You can send in anything". So today, I sent in my Clarion application, and I sent both the stories to real markets (Fantasy Magazine, and Strange Horizons).

Now I am scared.
