What if, in the excitement of querying a great agent, you forget to include some vital bit of query information?
I forgot to mention I was querying only this particular agent. It was sent by email. Almost immediately I realized my mistake and sent off a quick correction. Is this appropriate and acceptable or should I have allowed my misstep to stand?

Normally I'd just say let it go, but you already sent the e-mail and don't worry it's not that big of deal. Mistakes happen in e-mails and queries, I don't really hold it against people if they forget to include some info or if they spell my name wrong.

Thank you. I am greatly comforted by your response.

Gene, honestly, I wouldn't have thought to include that bit of information in the first place, so I think you would have been fine to let it go, but I don't think it was a huge faux pas to send an addendum. Some folks are sticklers, but most are just normal people who also forget to include information in e-mails, so it's generally just not that big a deal unless it's something really egregious--and this definitely doesn't fall into that category.

Hope that helps!
