Just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself, since I'm new around here. I'm a former lawyer turned actor in NYC, and I've been writing more and more as the years have passed. Nothing published yet, other than a one page article in Skin Diver magazine. But I have a completed manuscript for a mystery novel that I'd like to use to kick off a series. I know, ambitious, but I like to aim high. I found this site because I just heard the other day from an agent that a friend hooked me up with, and she said she loves the manuscript and wants to meet with me, so I came here looking for information on her/her agency. Paige Wheeler at Folio Literary Management. Any insight to either would be greatly appreciated. Meeting her for coffee this afternoon.
In addition the the mystery novel MS, I have a couple of very short manuscripts for illustrated children's books, about half of a pilot script for an hour long dramatic TV series, I've co-written and re-written a few half hour sitcom scripts, which are being shopped around, and I've got notes and scribbles on dozens of other ideas in various stages of gestation. I work with a great group of other writer/actor/producer type guys, and we call ourselves Table 34, because we all started meeting at table 34 at Virgil's Barbecue in NYC to cross-pollinate and inspire each other. We've produced a bunch of comic shorts that we're planning on getting up on youtube, we've got a website up that's currently being redesigned to look much more professional, and we just took office space so that we have a place to sit and work when we're not going to our auditions.
So that's it, a little (or maybe too much) about me. I'm glad I found this place, and I look forward to spending some time here, getting to know some of you guys, and sharing some inspiration.
Matt
