For all of you (I know you're out there) who -- like me -- watch faithfully every year:

The 131st annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is February 12th and 13th.

Check out their web page for great information, pictures, schedules and other great doggie-info.

I'm still grinnin' ear to ear over last year's win by Rufus, the Colored Bull Terrier :D

That gets repeated throughout the year, doesn't it? Once, I was in Buffalo visiting my brother for Thanksgiving and it was on television. It's nice to know when it's on live. Do you think it'll be on ESPN or something?

I've never seen it repeat (though that's not to say it doesn't) but there is the Eukanuba Challenge that gets repeated often.

The original live is broadcast on USA - I'm not sure where else it might appear, but I'll check it out and get back to you :)

Westminster never gets repeated. You might be thinking of the Eukanuba championships that are replayed over and over on Animal Planet.

Actually, USA usually televises it live and then replays the action from the night before in the afternoon of the next day. So if I miss it, I simply record it. :D

They're precious! I wanted to buy my mother one last year, but they're really hard to find.

Tonight's the night, peeps. Day one; 131st annual Westminster Show. Who's watchin' ? I'm gonna go study the entrants and make some bets for Group winners.

EDT: OMG I'm in love!

Look at that perfect head !

Personally, I'd like to see the Glen of Imaal Terrier win Group - and then tomorrow have the Spinone Italiano win Group, since they're so new in the AKC, it's fun to see the newer breeds excell. But Shadow Ferret will be happy to know this year's Dalmation looks really spectacular.

Sorry, midnight, but the head is the reason I don't like those things. Looks like a big sledgehammer.

And is there a poodle conspiracy in dog shows? C'mon. Not EVERY DAMNED POODLE ENTERED can be the best representation of what the breed should be! Gah! I hate poodles!

Out of all those beautiful toys, the MinPin, the Cavelier King Charles, the Pom, the Peke (as much as I hate them, too), the Manchester, Affenpincher... hell, ANY of them deserved to win above a stupid poodle.

ETA: And well, the same goes for the non-sporting group! (Just looked at the results because I fell asleep last night). Stupid poodles!

I agree - what the world needs now is FEWER POODLES !!!

What do we need with TWO poodles in the finals? Crap - that Cavalier King Charles was perfect, not to mention the Tibetan - I'd even take that French Bulldog over the Poodle.

Sometimes watching these results gives me high blood pressure.

Well that, and seeing a woman with a sparkling peacock-colored blouse distracting her Miniature Bull Terrier so bad, he can't show well. What was she thinking???

I'm so excited for the winner! One of my favorite breeds! I just finished watching the live broadcast but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who didn't see it or doesn't want to know yet!

And in case you missed it USA is replaying the end tomorrow at 11am Eastern. 11-2, if I'm not mistaken.

I certainly was surprised it wasn't one of the foo-foo dogs.

Maybe it's my own prejudice, but I thought any one of those setters should have won the sporting group, all three, the Irish, English, and Gordon were beautiful. Heck, even the wire haired dach was beautiful.

I could never be a judge. I'd keep scratching out my winner and writing in a new one.

Well that came out of left field for me. I was convinced the PBGV was gonna beat out the Dandy Dinmont - then, as I waited breathlessly for the judge to announce the PBGV's victory - up pops this English Spaniel.

Sheesh.

Okay, sure, he was a beauty. But the Hounds haven't won in too long !!! And that PBGV was a fantastic dog!

Of course, I'm still peeved that two spots were taken up by Poodles. :Soapbox:

I've always wanted to see a Cruft's show, but I can never find them broadcast here.

Animal Planet plays the Crufts shows...I've watched them before. I just don't think they do them live.
