It's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I believe, and my mother emailed me the other day to tell me it's being released on July 21. Can't wait! :)

Jo finished writing Deathly Hallows on 11 January 2007 and, yes, the release date is 21 July.

Check out this picture: She wrote on the statue in her hotel room when she finished the final chapter!

(If you can't quite make it out, it says "JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11 Jan 2007")

She must have been so stoked, but I bet she cried a little too. Seven massive books. Wow.

To be fair - 3 normal sized books, 3 massive ones so far and probably one more massive one.

Okay, three normal sized books in adult terms, but fairly long in children's book terms :p And in children's terms, three phenomenally ginormous (sp? gawd it's too early for this!) books. I do a happy dance every time I see kids engrossed in those tomes of hers. Who said reading was dead?

(PS The statue was apparently of Hermes, aka Mercury, aka the messenger of the gods, aka Percy's owl)
