Giant hurt ball or the Deathticle.
Is is forbidden to use real people from the past as character's in a story?
When I say this I mean people such as Winston churchill, Julius caesar, Boadicea, etc, not current living people.

As I've heard many times here, you can't liable the dead, so I'd say, go ahead. You're publisher will tell you if you're stepping on the wrong toes.

IN my own WIP my modern-day character meets Callimachus of Cyrene, the most famous of the Royal Library of Alexandira's librarians.

I've seen it done, mostly with people who are passed on, so I know it is possible. I think the most important thing is to do the research and make sure you get your fact strait. Don't let Khan become blonde and say "Cool"... ;)

I'd say yes, but try as hard as you can not to chop their character so no one gets angry. That's the only problem, I think. For instance- don't put Julius Caesar in a tux and don't put George Washington in a nudie bar. If you do it right, you'll be fine.

Oh I don't think there's any trouble there, I'm very practised when it comes to writing their chapters. He's possibly my favourite character to date.
