Greetings. I'm a 24-year old Icelandic man, with plenty of free time and a desire to create the kind of stories I want to read.
This fall I just finished writing my first full-length novel (160.000 words), one intended as a starter to a lengthy series. The setting is a fantasy world, but a rather grim one, focusing on characters, brutal violence, and dark atmosphere.
The point is to tell dramatic tales of human characters struggling against superior odds, and their own inner failings.
Since I wrote the book in english, I have since been trying to get into touch with American literary agents, but have only gotten one interested reply. The good people at agentquery.com suggested I try one of these forums for tips on how to do better.
