Hi,
I'm new here- to the board and to writing. I've been lurking on the boards for a couple of weeks now and I thought it was time to say hi.
I've been writing for about 6 months. I have about 35K words done for one story, and 6K done for another story. So far, everything I've written has been pretty crappy, but I've been very relieved to learn that most of us write 1M words before we get any good. Talk about relief. I'm currently working hardest on the second book of a 3 book series. They are stand alone contempoary romances that are interconnected. I find the more I learn, the harder this writing thing becomes, but I've also found I really love it and want to work on my stories every single day, even if it is just to read over what I've written and cut it to shreds.
Just a little about me, I'm 35 live in the Chicagoland area and I'm married with a 3 year old son and 1 year old daugther. I'm also a part time consultant.
I just wanted to stop in and say hi and let you know I'm learning a lot from everyone here at the board and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

PS- I'm working on an old borrowed laptop (mine's in the shop) and I can't get the spell check to work... so please forgive any typos.

) I sometimes lurk in the Romance section, as well as in the rest of the sections here at AW (you really should introduce yourself over in the Newbies, too--everyone is so friendly and welcoming). How did you become interested in writing?
to AW, Jen! You'll learn a lot here. Take a look at all the sticky threads in this forum. They'll help you a lot. Feel free to contribute to our Share your Work board too, if you'd like feedback or have a question about something you're stuck on.
