Hey, I am trying to do freelance writing part time while I go to school, can someone mentor me, guide me, on how I can go about it.

A week without a response, must mean "no". I was going to skip you as well until I remembered how I cut my teeth in freelance: volunteer. I started with a local non-profit newspaper, www.realchangenews.org and they've been a great help in terms of giving me story ideas, helping me format my writing, and editing what I produce. They're part of a nation-wide network of "homeless" papers (though sold by the homeless, the writing's all professional), so there might be something similar in wherever you are.
