Do you wish there were books on certain, odd subjects or ideas?

Like fanfiction of erotic tales of your favorite star?

If so, I'd have one of a wild night with Kiefer Sutherland and call it..."Kiefer Uncovered!" It would be one of those-Choose your own Adventure-stories! If you want Kiefer to not drink, turn to page 150, if he choosed a drink, turn to page 4...lol. He's one fine lookin' man, (daydreams...)

Ok, so you know I'm up at like 4 am and can't sleep...but hey, this could be a good thread!

There are 23 books I wish I could read. They're the ones I have plans to write. :D
I started my current WIP because I wanted to read the perfect book and finally decided the only way that was going to happen was if I wrote it, since everyone has a different idea of 'perfect'.

My favorite stars are so popular, I don't have to daydream about reading fan fiction and erotic stories about them. I have about 10,000 pages of it on my computer. I can't read it as fast as obsessed fans write it. Some of it's actually really good. My second favorite book ever was a novel length fan fiction I found online.

I agree with Hope on this one... I wrote The Secret War because it was something I wanted to read, and no one had attempted 19th century horror/fantasy at that point.

I always like the idea of cross-over books in a fan-boy kind of way, like what would happen if you mixed Indiana Jones and Harry Potter?

A law suit probably.:D

Fortunately for me, there was a nice man named Roger Zelazny writing the books I wish were written before I was born. I think that was very thoughtful of him.

It's a shame he died, but I'll finish the rest of the list of books-I-wish-were-written.

I asked my girlfriend to write a "how-to" book on communicating with her while she's angry... I really, really need that one. *sigh*

It's called "Sitting silently and grunting now and again in a non-committal way, as silently as possible."

It's because we can't always tell the difference between "Happy & Joking around" girl and "Angry & Wants you dead" girl. It's a fine line. So we opt for silent grunting.

How high on the creep-o-meter would I be if I wrote a fanfic about my night with either Amy Lee (vocalist of Evanescence) or Bryce Dallas Howard (actress, The Village)?

Or...dare I say...both?

(Not based on real events by the way. :( )

I need to strengthen my eyeglasses prescription. I read this as "I'd write about Janet Reno and me" and nearly died laughing. Sorry.

Anyway, carry on.

I wish there was a book on how to help me and my fiance cope with the stress of stupid ex-husbands, parents who don't understand/agree with decisions you make regarding child-rearing, dealing with a child with ADHD, coping with morons at work, and how to survive it all without driving your car off a bridge...

/whew. end rant. sorry there - but seriously, i think a book about blended families and difficult children would be awesome.

That's the SECOND time I've seen this happen.

Maybe Ellie should start just saying "That hot French actor" instead.

hahahaha - when I read that, the image in my head was Janet Reno's Dance Party from SNL...hahaha

Yeah, she should say "Jean Reno, the hot french actor...not the bulldog in the blue dress."

ohhhh that was harsh of me. sorry. :D

Yeah, I missed the Jean part of Reno too -- (shudder)...I definitely write the books I wish were written -- but I have to admit that I'm a huge HP fan, and when this last one comes out, I'll be writing more in my mind, with or without a live Harry! :)

LOL ... No worries. That's the second time in two days on here that people have thought I had the hots for Janet Reno; but I can honestly say that Janet does nothing for me ok :)

I, on the other hand, have always found her inexplicably intriguing...

Each to their own I guess. I didn't even know who she was until Peedee showed me what she looked like yesterday; I'd heard of her of course, but as I'm English and not from the USA, Janet was never one of my priorities in life.

Here's one...I wish The Deerhunter had been a novel rather than a screenplay. Blade Runner also, come to think of it...

Blade Runner, in fact, was loosely based off the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick which was, if you ask me, a better book than movie.
